Re: July sales

Business WAS booming, going slow these days but still beating previous owners numbers, so I take that as a great sign. In small towns it is easy to ruin your business with one mistake, but I am working on upgrading the shop - serious cosmetic needs there! And also shopping for upgrading equipment; simply changing the bulbs brought the customers back and that is still the most frequently asked question - to the point that I have the invoice to prove as previously the customers were misled in believing that the bulbs were good but had not results.... The July specials will bring the customers back, if not in droves at least in clumps.

I guess I could say the same exact things... o but I'm in a big city. But y'know, neighborhoods in cities are like small towns in the country.

Re: July sales

July seems to be start of the slow down season, we generally will run a month unlimited special at a good price. Lotions I really do not discount as that we are already selling them at a good price.

I do however run various lotion specials at the end of the season esp. if there was a product that did not sell very well I will knock $ 5 off just to move it out of here and get my capital back in the bank.

Homebeach.... tanning's off-season is JASON, when people can tan outside... it will last thru Nov.
What's so wrong with 60 people a day?

Re: July sales

I peak in April. My salon is profitable from March through July. February and August are pretty much breakeven. September through January I lose money.

Re: July sales

RGM824...that's right. You are providing an air-conditioned place with music and everything for their comfort when they tan. Not like the sweaty stuff goin on outside. So it is right that they pay full for that.

I'm not lowering my prices on tanning either. But I am running a special in July for spray-on tans.
