OUCH! well, if you have a PB in phoenix beware... word on the street is you suck! as i stated before, we don't have one near us. i have never been in one. but i do know if you run your business correctly, you shouldn't lose too much sleep over them moving nearby. if they like you, they will be back... but seriously, if they don't like you they will tell others that you "suck" and that seems to travel more than any good thing they could say! i know someone who had a months worth of bad experiences at a PB (in phoenix) and now i know and so does everyone that she works with, goes to school with, goes to the gym with, and now you know too. i almost felt like i should call them and tell them, so that they could change a few things!

Lowering our prices has kept us in business, we couldn't have survived if we had stuck to Planet Beach's pricing structure - enrollment fees, 2 year contracts, etc. Bottom line is customer service though. Whether you're called Planet Beach or Tan Uranus, people only come back if they've had a good experience.

I agree with Derf. I have a Planet Beach just north of me and at first they were stealing customers, but the customers are slowly coming back. They complain of no tans, lousy service and always high pressure to buy one and two year contracts and their crappy lotions.

They hurt me at first, but their pricing structure is outrageous. I'll watch them sink slowly into the background.
