Re: Appointments, or not?
I tried to do no appointments but got complaints. The viewpoint was that if they pay every month for an EFT, they should be able to make an appointment. Their lives were very full and they could not take a chance on maybe getting in.
So now I do both. I have 9 beds. 5 are available for appointments and 4 are no appointments necessary. We also do the bookyourself.com for the appointment beds. |

Re: Appointments, or not?
We do both and we do deduct from there package. Over time you will learn most of the excuses are the same and are specific clients. I will let things go sometimes just avoid the confrontation...yuk.. some customers do get nasty.
However, I came up with an appointment card. The front tells them the rules of appointments and what we do if you do not call or show up. The back of the card has each day of the week and space to write down your time. It has helped I give one to each client and tell them to place it in the dashboard of their car or on their frig at home. Many clients really appreciated the thought of making these cards it helps them to keep on track and reminds them of what will happen if they don't. I also post the appointment rules in each room.. Of course we really do not require appointments, but once a client comes in a couple of times and we are booked they do learn to call ahead and make the appointment. Honestly you need to use a lot of sales man tactics to win over the clients it is a part of running a salon. Tina Electric Tan & Accessories |

Re: Appointments, or not?
I take both appointments and walk-ins. If the appointment dosent show up within 5-10 minutes i give the bed away. It really is not a problem for me with the appointments most people are curteous and call to let me know they are late and/or can not make it. Its funny though because those who do not make appointments and have to wait will sometimes flip on me. I mean come on. if its prom season do u not see the other 20 people waiting in the lobby?
