Re: Appointments, or not?
We don't take appointments in the usual way, but we allow customers to call and make sure the beds are open, if there is a wait we will pull their card and put them in line, kind of like at a restaurant.

Re: Appointments, or not?
we take appointments. i tell all clients we go 3 minutes past the appointment time and then take another client if needed. we also let them know they should set their clock to match ours which is from the computer so its accurate. 3 yrs never had a problem. you can kinda tell who is unreliable after 1 or 2 lates or no shows. we got 8 machines

Re: Appointments, or not?
I do appointments but have a rule. No show twice and your walk in only!
Late for appointment and you dont get full time. I just shut off their bed when i need it. To bad for them, as i have a sign stating our rules. I hate haveing a waiting room full of people... |

Re: Appointments, or not?
We have 4 differnt types of beds, we take walk-ins in our small beds but the other three we do both. They can make an appointmaent or just show up and they can only lay if no one is scheduled at that time or to where it will overlap on the next persons time. Make a sign saying after so many no shows that they will no long be able to make appointments because its usually the same people that don't show up....

Re: Appointments, or not?
Each person's salon is different depending on a bunch of factors. Only you can decide what works best for yours. One of the main ones is the number of units you have. I feel that if you have less than 10 units appointments/walkins are the way to go, maybe 8 but that is stretching it. Than again it depends on the population in your area. Over 10 walkins are the way to go.

Re: Appointments, or not?
I would love to go to no appointments. It would take away alot of stress during busy season (you guys remember what that is ? ) but i just don't see doing it. So many great long standing customers make appts. and i can't see "penalizing" those who think enough of us to reserve a time. But................
