Evaluating Employee Performance


After reading several threads regarding employees, their productivity, and how to deal with them, it is apparent that we are in the same boat or at least face the same issues.

I figured if I were going to get the most out of my team members [staff] I would need some type of performance indicator and one that was reliable. Not simply relying on a single sales figure or from what I observe from across the parking lot.

Looking at the lotion sales by number of sessions [$ in Lotion / Sessions] was a good start but does not give me the whole picture.

One area I have been looking into is, how many people coming in on a special [ad special] purchase that special and how many purchased a higher valued package [ah this is where the sales comes in]. I can then compare this ratio for each employee. This shows me who I need to spend some time with educating them about my system.

I figure there are several other techniques that can be used to gauge or evaluate an employee’s performance, would you mind sharing your key monitoring system? Thanks!

If you sell memberships you can look at the closing percentage they have. We do that alot... if one employee sells 10 memberships but sees 150 new clients, that isn't good. so that's one of the biggest ones we have.

we also look at the other obvious ones... doller per customer... dollar per hour.... those are our main ones.
