I would go ahead and open that salon. don't be afraid. do it. show those guys what you're made of. come sign that lease. buy that equipment. if you have the magic formula for success and you think you can compete, why not do it head on. what can you lose. he, he, he.

I think comp. is good. It keeps you in check, and at the top of your game. I want people to tan at my place because they like it, not because they dont have somewhere els to tan at.

^ competition is good in the larger sence. Yet just about everyone seems to detest cut throat price wars. Look in the for sale section to find all the salons liquidating.
Not saying you shouldn't make a go of it, just be sure you know what you're getting into and you have the $$ to see it through. We don't want to see your stuff up for sale in 6 months!
