Re: Tanning times
God I have the same problem!!!!!!!
The previous owners of this salon didn't maitain the beds and they pretty much let the customers run the show. Even though three of the beds are the same beds from the 6 left behind they tan VERY differently (its amazing how much dust and grim can really affect your tan) and they have been relamped. They seem to think burn=color. I try to explain it should be gradual. It lasts longer and looks better, I even use myself and my staff as an example that we tan with a great lotion and only go about once a week for 15 in a 20 min and maybe 8 in a 12 miniute. They still do what they want. I have had customers sign a waiver that states no one tans the max amount the first time in without manager approval. Right underneath it says we care about your skin and how you look effects how we look... etc etc etc. I had one lady insist on her money back.... (she wouldn't even tan unless it was 20 or 25 where she was going before I have no clue) I showed her the realease for where she had signed 4 times on one page that she had read the above and she knew ahead of time that was how this ran. In the long run I gave her, her money back and said we do this cuz we care about our clients. She left angry. I know word of mouth is everything, but look at it this way her friend says where did you tan she says well I went to Glow and that lady wouldn't let me go the max my first time hopefully the friend has enough sense to say wow that place cares or she may say wow if I pay I should do what I want, if thats the case I don't want th headache anyways! |

Re: Tanning times
When a client goes against our better judgement we use the note section in helios and document TIME WARNING. The front counter girls also contact a manager so they know what to say when the client trys to blaim the girls.

Re: Tanning times
MY beds, MY expertise, MY insurance premiums & MY business . . . i am not putting myself on the line because you are an idiot who knows everything . . . the WORST? former salon owners (hi, can you guess why you went out of business? the lack of a basci understanding of how one TANS perhaps?!)
"You haven't tanned HERE" is my reply to "well, I do 20 mins at another salon" - and then I explain the differnces in bed wattage, UVa/b ratio maintenance, etc
