Hmmmmm what do you guys think??

She was at her other job when they told her that this new training was "manditory". That was at 2:00. She was not allowed to bring her cell phone in but did anyway. She swears she tried to text me at 2pm...and that the whole time I was "texting" her...she was getting it and responding, but it kept giving me error messages. Anyway...she sounds really upset and she is on her way right now. She is not the type to do this anyway. I don't give my employees health benefits or anything so of course most of them have other jobs or are in school. She's coming in now to work until close (midnight).

Should I still be ******....Am I being a pushover? She's 4 hours late...but it's not like she blew me off to go out tonight. I dunno....

She didn't use very good judgment. What? They wouldn't give her 30 seconds to call you and expalin?? It sounds like she's saying "they told me I had to go to this meeting RIGHT now with no warning!" Maybe if she was the V.P. of a Fortune 500 company I'd believe it. Poor judgment on her part will continue.

I would take the excuse - like you said she is coming - dont you want to go home?

I thought she was going to come with i looked at the schedule wrong. I had the two girls that have been hear the least amount of time. Told them three weeks ago - you two are working v-day.

JM, it could be true. I was in a situation like that once when I could do nothing but pray that I would not get in trouble for it. She did show up after wards that a plus in her favor.

I think you should give her one more shot, mainly cause you said it is not like her to do this. And she didn't just blow it off, she must like her job there and you sound like an awesome boss. Just make it clear that next time there will be the big judgement call on your part and she may not have a job that will take her back. I can believe the mandatory meeting and all, some job are just stupid like that. They treat you like your two and have no life...been there done that....don't ever want to go back. Good Luck and I hope your Valentines Day ended up being something very special:)
