Cell Phones
I think as of Monday I am going to insutute a No cell phone rule. Under this policy if I see anyone talking on their cell phone I take it until the end of the day. On the 2nd and 3rd offenses Im taking for a week. In the past year I have witnessed way too much inattention to customers as of cell phone use. Besides I'm just annoyed b/c I manage to run two buisnesses without ever ever ever having to talk on my cellphone anywhere other than my car.

Re: Cell Phones
I just don't understand how (trying not to be conceit here) I am a relatively more important person and still never really need to use my cell phone or personal phone as much as the employees

Re: Cell Phones
From thier view point they have alot of important stuff to take care of - even more so if they are female.
Phone calls today on my cell - two calls from salon 2 minutes - one from wife 45 seconds - one from friend 20 seconds. Maybe its just me but i have also told people that know me and that i have dated a phone call is to take care of business and or to tell me somthing. I have no interest in just shooting the **** on the phone. When i was 15 - 20 that was not the case. Same thing though these poeple my age and older that come in on thier phones all the time - i dont understand. I can except it if you may be on your phone but when you are on your phone 9 out of 10 times when you come in - you have a problem - no one want s to talk to you that much. We all know someone we dont want to get caught on the phone with. |

Re: Cell Phones
So, out of curiousity, how do you nicely tell someone do not use the cell phone while in your salon? We have people that come in with the thing stuck in their ear, talk the entire time they're checking, in, and while I take them to the room. I can even hear them while they're getting ready to tan! How do they do that? I couldn't put lotion on myself and talk on the cell at the same time!
Are you seriously going to tell them to not use their cell phones? i know what would happen here....they'd all tell me that I have no right to tell that that....but it really is annoying, and I"m sure other clients don't want to hear their personal conversations while they're trying to tan. |

Re: Cell Phones
If a client walks up to the counter and they are on the cell phone I keep on doing what ever I was doing . One time I had a lady get a little bent out of shape, so I told her that I did not want to disturb her while she was on the phone. She got the message. If they are in the bed talking on the cell phone I crank the music up a couple of notches.
