salon software co. ripped us off!
so i just took over a salon in april that had been taking a serious nose dive for 6 straight years. yes i had several experts check into it for me and thought it would still be profitable just needed to giv it time. in the first two months a figured out part of the problem.. the previous owners software wasn't catching pkg expiration dates and neither were employees.
now i already know i've made every mistake a new biz owner could possibly make and even invented some new ones. but after counting one afternoon over 100 clients that had exp pkgs yet were still tanning i grabbed the computer and said we'll write it down till the new software comes thinking it would be as simple as the software co. said it would be i was figuring on max 2 weeks without a pc. it has now been 6 months, i have lost so much buisness over it and i swear if i here 1 more time "whats wrong with the computer" i'll lose it. i shopped around before i bought and heard nothing but good things about this co. they're support is the worst the only way to get ahold of them is to call long distance and wait for hours because they never return phone calls. and of course the snooty clients i have always look at me like i broke the computerthe whole system is brand new it's just the dang software..... so we have gone back to the good old fashioned card system..... i would rather have the software but seeings how they haven't helped us in 6 mo. i highly doubt they will rush to our aid at the start of busy season... anyone know how i could best go after getting my money back???? well over $5000 thx |

Re: salon software co. ripped us off!
Now for the next question. What type of computer system do you have? hard drive size? RAM size? etc. Are you sure you set up the software options correctly? You haven't told us WHAT is not working or WHAT the specific problem is.

I would have thought that you would have requested an active list of customers and balanced it against the P & L's you were looking at prior to the sale completion?

Salon touch -who makes that?
Customers are looking at you like that because they aint tanning for free anymore. Lots of dishonest people out there. Suck it up and get new software and start over the best you can. Think you were losing money on the old computer? What do you think employees and customers are doing to you know? |

Re: salon software co. ripped us off!
# 1 hp top of the line i've never seen anything with as many bells and whistles as this one not at the shop this sec and i don't remember the specifics
#2 on 2 seperate occasions the software company remoted into the computer to set it up themselves because they had been blowing us off and where trying to 'rectify the situation" but ended up only doing more damage and won't return our repeated phone calls. #3 not only i checked the p&ls i had 3 different experts take a look at everything before the papres were signed, she completly 100% cooked all her books not a thing was actual data infact we are begining to wonder if she ever had any factual data because her husband had so much money and had been funneling it through to the company to keep it afloat. but thats not my issue, infact according to the tanning records i was able to retrieve from the old system we've doubled in sales every month since i've taken over with the exception of june. #4 obviously you've never used the card system before but everything is accounted for with it. i just don't get to have the luxury of hitting a button and having all my reports print out in 5 min. another salon owner here in town that's been in business for 20+ years with 4 salons uses the client card system and wouldn't do it any other way. you know the world still spins after the pc shuts off..... oh and salon touch, salon.net, and suntouch are by idi so back to my original question does anyone know how i might go about recovering some or all of the money spent on the software Last edited by tropiclobsesion; 01-01-2006 at 10:06 AM. |
