Matrix Pricing

Hi, I am a new salon owner. I am trying to redo our pricing. Can anyone give me an average price for a tan on the Matrix L33? We are only charging $28 and we are the only high pressure bed in the county. Thanks!

While I'm thinking of it, does anyone sell contracts on the better beds, or just the base beds?

Re: Matrix Pricing

I don't have the Matrix but i do have two Magic 636's and our single session price is $36.00. We do sell mostly 5, 10, & 15 session pkg.'s and including sales, the avg. price has turned out to be about $28.00.

Re: Matrix Pricing

It is probably going to be difficult to raise the price of a session now, but you may be able to keep your existing customers on the old price and have all of the new clients pay $34-$36 a single session.

DO NOT HAVE MONTH UNLIMITED TANNING IN THE MATRIX!!!!

Session packages and upgrades from monthly pakages only.

Re: Matrix Pricing

Really ? I think i'd have to do it for much more otherwise i'd kill the 15- $414.00 Magic Pkg. That usually only sells w/ 3-5 x-tra free though.

Re: Matrix Pricing

Thanks for the info. When we first opened (under different management and owners) we were charging $35 a tan. I am really leaning toward $30.

So you don't recommend unlimited packages? My manager wants to add one, but I have been dragging my feet because something about it bothers me. What are your reasons?

Right now we only offer a $19 a month package on our base beds. Our competition offers unlimited packages on all their beds, but they don't have a high pressure. Would you recommend adding packages for out other beds excluding the Matrix?

I am so glad I stumbled across this site. I am learing as I go along.

Re: Matrix Pricing

I think if you want to be a really upscale salon w/ HP , you really shouldn't lower your prices. Your devaluing your product. Keep the bed really well maintained & lamps at a very high out put and it may take some time but you'll succeed. Remember, you really have to sell the concept of HP. Especially 360 HP. Sure your charging them more but there in/ out and their tan lasts much longer. When times are tough add some free sessions or another incentive but try not to lower your price. save the best values for the slowest times.

Re: Matrix Pricing

I would just charge a upgrade fee from your $19 a month package like $17 each time they come in.

Your clients do not need unlimited tanning in the Matrix, it is not good for their skin and your POCKETS. Most unlimited customers tan between 12&15 visits a month that is way too many tans in a Matrix.

Re: Matrix Pricing

Offer monthlys on base and VHR only. HP needs to be sold on session basis and also as an upgrade from other packages (you'll make more). It further solidifies the need to only come once weekly to maintain or 2X per month in HP.
