Thumbs down Christmas giftbags/stocking stuffers

Stocking stuffers bit!

Everyone was talking about giftbags and stocking stuffers for Christmas. I put them together last month, a wide variety from 9.99 to 35.00.

Havent sold a one! Glad I only put togther about 8 or 9, and bought 4 gift bag sets. Oh, well, I was so excited about them. Everyone else's seemed to be selling like hot cakes! Not a loss, I'll just break them down and sell the items individually, but my bubble got busted!

Did anyone elses not go over so well?

Do it again next year and the next. Each year will get better.

Re: Christmas giftbags/stocking stuffers

Don't get discouraged. It does take time for these to catch on sometimes. The first year we did them, we didn't sell any at all. Each year it gets a bit better. It's nice to have the option available for those that come in to buy, but are unsure what to get. Husbands usually buy more of the gift bags and regular clients are the ones who buy up most of the stocking stuffer items around here. Regardless, we don't sell tons of these. Gift cards are the best sellers this time of year. Good Luck.

Re: Christmas giftbags/stocking stuffers

I had the same thing with halloween. I was so excited about my little pumkins and candy and coupons. Out of 89 that i made Maybe 10 were taken, and 3 coupons used. I dismantled them and put the candy in a bowl. So for Christmas I just put candy in a bowl and canes on the tree. These peeps are so fickle I don't get it.

Re: Christmas giftbags/stocking stuffers

i hear ya.. I only sold a few myself... And that was because I was doing 10% off gift cards so they had few dollars to spare to go along with it... Only a few days until the holidays so I hope I can get some other items sold...

Re: Christmas giftbags/stocking stuffers

Yah, I thought they would be an easy add on with all the gift certificates. No such luck. If at first you dont suceed, try, try again.

I'll try next year.

Re: Christmas giftbags/stocking stuffers

I hear ya!! Haven't sold any gift bags here either. I made up a nice sign in front of the register "Give the gift of Warmth this Year". I have gift bags made up under my Christmas tree.....Looks like I will be taking them apart next week
