NEW YEAR... right around the corner!

What's everyone doing for the NEW YEAR? Anyone trying a different approach? Sales? Pricing? New Lotion? New beds? Adding more then tanning and lotions? Marketing? Staying the same?

Maybe we can all bounce ideas off one another~
Just curious...

We're going to offer more specials throughout the year. Do a big promotion in the smack of busy season. We map out all of our specials at the beginning of the year so that we aren't scrambling around last minute.

Good idea to map out all specials before hand! I'm going to have to try that for 2006. Especially when you're so busy you don't have time to be thinking about specials and so forth. Thanks

I guess I'll share my thoughts. We raised our prices slightly the beginning of 2005. It didn't seem to do too much. Nothing negative and nothing showing positive either. No one seemed to notice. We'll keep our prices the same this year.
Thinking of adding upgrades to our monthly packages. From other posts I've noticed upgrades are a good way to go.
I also hear that 2006 should be a great year for all of us! Yay! I'm really wanting to keeped more focused this year and make our salon be all that it can be! We're in a growing area, so need to keep those competitors away and do some really good marketing. Maybe get new clients in with some free tans.

We are just getting moved into our new location. We just expanded and have new beds, so I am hoping the new year will be a better one than this last one has been.

We will be upping our print advertising and sending out more direct mailers. They worked great last year, so this year we are going to try to get 2 more rounds sent out.

more radio, less to no newspapers, do 4 mile radius direct mail(first time), data base mailings more often, add 6 month and 1 year package and extend hours to 9pm ...........sell more lotion

also moving into a new loaction with more equipment. i am not going to do many if any speacials after the first of the year. nobody gives me a special on my gas or electric so i am not giving my services away either.
