Just catching up on some reading here..... and I can say that my salon started with 3 beds and I've since purchased a used Hex and 1 more new bed and 1 (maybe two used) more beds are on their way to me NOW! I couldn't keep up with the demand in my small town and am growing very fast. Remember, my closest competition in over 12 miles away. I have the space and beds but I don't know how I'm ging to pay an electrician to hook these babies up. I'm hoping he'll let me make payments. I also own a store (attached to the salon). Things R very tight right now!Truthfully I wouldn't survive on just the income from tanning. Hoping this expansion will be profitable. This summer I was swamped and the last few weeks have been very depressing. I don't have a husbands income helping me anymore so I make it or break it. The building with my store and salon has an large apartment upstairs and that is where I live so I could never make a separate mortgage on tanning alone. I've only been open 8 months now so I have a feel for the business. Just when I get ahead, I have to purchase new bulbs and it sets me back so this is no GLAMOUR money maker I have. I do make decent money but it all goes back into the business. I couldn't give you figures until the year is up, then I'll let ya know FACTS!

Put it this way......I sold Christmas trees in my parking lot and made more money on that in two days than I've made all last month in tanning!
