Commission on Montly special?? - Page 4

Wow, I like how you put MJ...
I am still feeling pi$$y about the whole commission thing. That is why I started this post. I felt shocked that my ONE (1) employee was whining like a little brat because he wanted a full 10% commission on a MONTHLY CHRISTMAS SPECIAL.
Let me break it down for those of you that might feel sorry for him......
I am a single mother of a 2 year old....Otherwise I would work 6 days aweek, 12 hours a day! I truly count on this employee to be honest, loyal, and dependable. Therefore, I treat him well. He doesn't work that hard at ALL! He sits on MY computer all day playing on the internet! I have to remind him to CLEAN!!!!!I won't even mention other things that he has done here! The kid has got it good, in my opinion. I had the internet shut off for the weekend after he asked to work double shifts.....OMG...he didn't know what to do with himself. Pouting around the salon,because he didn't have the internet...that I PAY FOR.
Sooo, when he basically begged for a full 10% on my X-MAS special, I seen it as very...VERY selfish and greedy. I am sorry, but it doesn't take that much for somebody to really think about it. " HHmmmm do I want to spend the regular price of $60 or shall I take advantage of the X-mas special for $45????? I sure hope the guy behind the counter can help persuade my decision!"
Come on. Why is this eating me up??? It's just a few dollars!
Sorry I had to vent again. Love yall!
P.S. I don't have EFT. Nobody even wants it...I have offered it. I guess I am missing something?

that is a simple fix...
Hire someone else and start training watch how JR all of sudden becomes a model employee when he thinks you might replace him. And the little 1.50 extra he wants will seem s o unimportant to him...he will be more worried about potentially losing hours.
I found when I was short staffed..my employee behaved lie they were doing me some favor or something. Hire a few and weed out the weak ones even if it might be him.

Has anyone else noticed MJ cannot for the life of her spell the word THE she always types "teh" ... Just an observation, don't mean nothin by it. But it is in everyone of her posts..

lol...NOT EVERY ONE!!! (just 97.5% of them)

That 'teh'has practically become my signature. The truth is I hunt and peck....never did learn to type. My right typing finger is sometimes faster than my left typing finger.. That is why. If I forget to spell check(which is most of the time)...It is way more noticiable.

MJ- AKA fastest hunt & pecker on the web!!

And S~ has been promising me typing lessons for a few years now.... she has yet to come teach me how to type. :shameonherface: :winkwink:

Consider it a game.. like "where's waldo". Each TEH is worth 2 points. The person finds the most...and reachs 50 points first get a prize*. (* that MIKE will pay for)

If your employees are pi$$ed - I'd tell you to offer commissions on the number of specials sold for the month. ie: if you give them $x for 20 $45 special packages, then you'll make up the profits. Then you have a race to the finish line. You could go one step further and say 20 per week minimum.

They will make or break that special so you must add incentives to your bottom line. That would give you a good profit margin and an added Christmas incentive.

Just a thought!

TF-- not to stir the pot. BUT I want to throw some what ifs at you...
What if they only sold 18...and truly busted thier a ss to do that. But fell short...would you pay them the commission?
The policy is there ONCE you let them talk you into going against your own policy..just this one time.. forget it!!

Why not 17 then 16...it is almost 20 . I tried My car broke down..comon!!!???

You already altered youjr policy to give them commission you will obviously bend alittle more. Next thing you know they will barely be trying and you will be expected/guilted in to paying commission on--- the buy one get one free tans. JMHO

Before you know you might as well bend over the table...and take it like a pretty man in a tiny cell.
