Re: Commission on Montly special??

ONce our employees reach the amount they got paid in sales thats when i give commission on pkgs and lotions... on discounted ones they get a lesser $$..on base beds and single sessions tehy get ZERO... They should be selling at least their monthly salary otherwise.. Do you really need them?

Re: Commission on Montly special??

well,
i gave into giving 5% rather than the usual 10%. I don't know what yall give out, but that is what I feel comfortable with. He will make a couple bucks off of the Special each time he sells it.
I totally agree that the package sells itself!!! His whine and bi+ch was that...he is pushing the special because people could easily buy something cheaper...so whatever! HE can have the measly commission at half the rate. I told him sale some lotion with the special and I would give him the 10%. Tying to give him some incentive!
If he wouldn't have bi+ched about it so much, he could have had a nice fat Christmas bonus. I really hate being pushed for hours and money! Maybe I sound cheap. oh well. I'll get over it.
Thanks for the advice...

Re: Commission on Montly special??

I never pay commissions on monthly specials. BUT, I do give a bonus for the number of specials they sell.... When I create a package or special, I also create the bonus or commission structure at the same time. This would prevent your current problem. Lesson learned....you got it now! :)

Re: Commission on Montly special??

Commision on packages should be limited to flat dollar amounts on selective packages. Such as EFT sign ups, Large 15 visit + packages.

JMHO
or like ronnie said...you run it their hand out around every corner. The staff was hired to sell. They get bonus commisions for selling above a certian amount of lotion, and like I said above flat rate bonuses for selective packages. BUT why pay them twice..for the same job?

Start teh new year out right..and who ever leaves ..leaves. YOu have time to rehire girls before season really kicks in. You will see a far more motivated staff. and more money in your bank account next year!! Happy holidays and GL!

Re: Commission on Montly special??

certianly did not get the idea from you..I think it was maria That originally taught me how to properly put commisions in place to actually make YOU money instead just cost you money. I modified it to fit to how I wanted to run my salon I suggest all salon owners do the same.

OHH and BTW is it a mods job to follow around posters and annoy them, insult them and berate them with rude comments? Just curious?

Re: Commission on Montly special??

A common question I joke about with employees when they say that sales were good is.... I ask "Were the customers buying or were you selling"? I always get a funny look:) If I see smaller packages and the customer was close to being out of credits or sessions then "The customer was buying". They had no choice. If they have 3 or more sessions left and they purchased a larger package than they did previously, or a monthly special...the employee was "selling". That is one reason why I have never paid on smaller packages...it's a given..they have to pay to tan.

Just examples...

Re: Commission on Montly special??

I pay commission on everything; however recently I severely increased the employees commission on EFT sales and decreased severely on everything else. If our EFT's don't increase significantly this month I will be forced to get rid of the commission for the other packages, sessions and single tans.

Re: Commission on Montly special??

I pay 5% only on things that save the customer $. Lotion bottles but not singles, memberships and session packages, not single sessions. Do give commission on sale items but remember the commission is there when setting price. Also, what is the reason for the sale? to generate $ or attract/retain clients. IF YOUR STAFF IS UNHAPPY WITH THE PRODUCT WILL YOU ACHIVE EITHER
