Re: Solar Meter

I know this is a old thread but I didn't want to create a new one on solarmeters. I started tracking my bulbs with a 5.0 and I am confused. My level 2 beds are TA Catalinas and they are 32 bulb, 160watt on top and 100watt on bottom. So why does the top and bottom meter at about the same (23 or so). Shouldn't the top read higher with the 160watt bulbs? Also when a company states that their bed has a total output of lets just say 79.5 kj/min. How do they get that reading?

You have the wrong meter for the higher output lamps no doubt - you need to buy a couple more meters to get the full picture, or graph, or chart, or whatever it is you're trying to do.
