December is slow for you? That's when we finally begin to see a light at the end of the tunnel....... First two weeks of January slows down, and then it generally "takes off" until June. Generally.

Unfortunately, December is VERY slow! We did start building our numbers quickly in January then we stayed high for awhile. After running 300-315 a day through mid May just having 200 a day seemed like having no one, even though that was actually still very good. We ran 300 a day manually with no computer software. Everything was done on cards!!! It was crazy! Hopefully, the software will expedite the whole process. Since we only had a manual appointment book, everyone who wanted to tan and make appointments had to come to one place. This year, we'll have two computers networked and will be able to move people in and out much faster! However, I'm always open to any suggestions of what works best for you!

jacks mommy...why are you filing quarterly?
Your profile says one salon and 8 units. We file our gas stations quarterly due to the amount of paper would be a bit much to do otherwise. I never filrd my salon quarterly. You should file yearly... if you accountant suggests it.. get a new on he is just trying to rip you off. JMHO

Maybe the accountant want less paperwork at the end of the year too?

I'm only talking about employee taxes, sales taxes. I wouldn't want to pay all that once a year.

Here, the state determines how often you have to pay. I have to pay quarterly also. I had a side business a few years back, they collected next to nothing from me, and they sent me a letter saying I could file yearly. I agree that it is hard to pay those quarterly taxes when your slow. Luckily, last week was a good one for me. But not good enough to pay all the taxes. I have to eat the 20 dollar late fee on some.

1st week of August slowest for me this year so far, but I havent finished my October numbers.

Same here. Various levels of government determine our remittance periods based on revs. from the previous years(s).
