I am from Rhode Island and we cant take money out of employees checks. It is the law here and I had a girl that fought it and won. You should call your local labor board to check out the laws

Reminds me of an ex girlfiend. She told me she was pregnant. I asked her, "I thought you told me you were taking the pill?" She replied "I was, but it kept on falling out!"

I don't know who your boss is, but this has all he makings of violation of labor laws. Check with your state Labor Commissioner or department that handles employee complaints. I don't even believe that an employer can deduct cash shortages or losses from an employee's paycheck. First speak with the boss, and if you do not get satisfaction take it to the aforementioned. There are severe penalities for this sort of thing.
