Dell is great, Compaq is very poor, build you own at newegg.com for 2/3's and have a better computer than either.
Office Depot and others sell the Quickbooks POS system (Cash Drawer, Scanner, Receipt Printer, Card Swiper & Retail Software) for about $1500. You can buy just the parts (without the software) for less. We just upgraded to Suntouch 1.5 which runs on Win XP Service Pack 2 and it works very well for us. Runs 10 stations very reliably and does a good job as a POS unit. We are considering adding a second POS computer tied into the main one that allows either station to control the timers, etc. Anyone do this with Suntouch? |
