Training Manual Suggestions... HELP!

We are a fairly new salon and we are looking to compile a training manual. I have an outline of what I want in it. However I was wondering if any of the other salon owners had any suggestions. I know that having a knowledgable staff is important. I would even like to give them a test, but I didn't know if that was just way to extreme. Any suggestions would be a great help! Thanks
