Best of both worlds is to have the employee clean the bed and have a bottle of disinfectant cleaner in the room in case the client wants to self-clean. But it's a mistake to assume a client will clean the bed. Most gyms require towels during a workout -- how many do you actually see. A lot of gyms have paper towels and cleanser available, and how many clients actually use them? If you want something done right... very true. I worry about the common cold or the flu. Not HIV A cold is a disease caused by a virus that is spread by contact. It infects the soft lining of the nose without a person even knowing it. colds are spread by direct contact — when you shake someone’s hand, or touch an infected doorknob, handrail or even the countertop in your kitchen. You catch a cold when you touch these infected surfaces and then touch your nose or eyes, where these germs enter your body. Well,, Just call the good old folks at "lucasol" products.. Now some of you hit the nail right on the head. There is a big difference between " disinfect", and "sanitize". I was told to have my girls pretty much soak the beds and allow to sit for at least 10 mins every morning..while the beds are cool... Then, after each consumer is finished tanning, allow the "lucasol" to sit on the beds*(sprayed very liberally) for at least 2 mins ,,and then wipe it off...Of course, we don't have 19 beds that are in constant use.... But at least once per day, a bed should be allowed to "soak" and cool ..... Bottom line,,call LUCASOL products and they will tell you what to do..

Now please do not take this the wrong way, but, you/we are in a customer service business so why would you let or make your customers clean there own bed??? To me that is the craziest idea, would you invite guests over to your house for dinner and make them pay for the food and then cook it too?
This is a service business, we are here to make our clients look and feel good. When I show a client how to use the bed, I explain my cleaning process to them and inform the client that at any time if they do not feel the bed is clean, I will gladly come in and clean it again right in front of them with no questions asked. IMO I just think that we are down grading our business by not cleaning the beds ourself! |

Well, if my clients were paying $40.00 a month, then I could afford to pay people to clean the beds for them. I dont, because people would rather save $12.00 a month and clean it themselves. We do check , and reclean them, and some dont clean them at all, then we do it. But bottom line is, you get what you pay for. In my area, unlimited is cheap! We cant afford bed cleaners!!! Its not down grading our business.

What does price have to do with service?????? Who cares what they pay, if you did clean the beds you would make your salon stand out from the rest and maybe increase business flow more.
I don't have any bed cleaners at my salon and I do all the cleaning myself. I'm just saying that if I walked into a salon and they told me I had to clean my own bed, I'd tell em to have a nice day and take my money elsewere. |

Agree with Navigatin. A staff member should be concerned if the bed is cleaned correctly or she loses her job a client has nothing to lose. The people that let clients clean beds are not caught up with the time's sorry. I totaly disagree with letting your clients clean beds.
