What the heck are computer people and why are they on salary at a TANNING SALON???

Eng sorry. My computer people are my sales people. I call them that to stress that no else is suppose to touch the computers without supervision. I am not looking for any accidents to happen. With my money or with burning clients.

Oh sam i also just noticed your 18. People will take advantage of you beacause of your age - people dont think you know any better. It aint right but i do the same to younger people when i need to. The way of the world. You need to speak up for yourself - the sooner the better. I am 32 and i still have a problem with it sometimes.

samistan, it's time to renegotiate.

Go find a better job and give the owner 2 weeks notice. Consider their counter offer in light of the reality that they will probably terminate you as soon as they find their next slave. Move on.

It is Totally Not legal for someone to pay you Less than Min. wage even if you are on salary. If your salon takes Credit Cars that puts you into Federal Labor Laws rather than state and they do not allow this. Would you consider moving to Florida? We are opening a store and with your experience we would start you at $18,000.00 a year plus benifits. I would also consider hiring your boy friend as well. Thanks

I have a hard time buying this that someone is paying right around 3 dollars an hour. Do you make any commison, monthly bonuses? You make exactly $150 per week with a 40 hour work week?

I know. $150/week is good money. What the ****? Also "It is Totally Not legal for someone to pay you Less than Min. wage even if you are on salary." I believe is not true. It can't be. I've been on jobs where I never even got paid. This is just crazy. I gutta get the **** out of here.

no. it is true the most i have ever made is 300.00 in 1 week and the only reason for that wa b/c it was back pay and i had a lot of past due bills and it was an emergency. i didnt want to complain to my boss b/c i thought that was an ok salary until now. i have already called him and he is going to get back to me. ill keep ya updated. thank you all.

Hey, one thing I can tell you is that you can't call someone a salaried employee to get around minimum wage laws. A lot of people think they can do this and when the Labor Board gets wind of it they're in for a world of hurt with back wages.

That said, as far as your current situation goes, bottom line: someone said "I'll pay you this much" and you said "Yes." You want more, you ask for more and if the owner says no, you find something else. Basic economics.
