I finally put a test together, its 10 pages of the most common problems that come up
the need for eye protection, what to tell a first-time tanner how often can you tan judging skin type pressure points tanning rashes common medications that cause problems tanning problems with contact lenses 2 beginning lotions favorite bronzer best high end lotion how skin tans what to do when a client burns which client should avoid tiungle lotions benifits of tanning what is sunlight affective disorder questions on light its really everything that all the employees are screwing up... then they give the owners and the manager a tour of the salon a first time tour of mystic tan they open the salon at least 3 times (with another employee overseeing them) they close the salon 3-5 times (again w/ help) pass it -a $1.00 raise get certified -get another 1.00 -no further raise untill you go thru the busy season and i am working on the next level test... Testing motivates the employees/ I am also considering retesting everyone when they come back in the fall- just to keep them on their toes! I also add a note to paychecks when i notice that problems are reoccuring -ie "customers are tanning in friends accounts", ask for birthdate, or id checks" hope this helps |

Hey SunSally, you forgot about the MBA w/ undergrad in Org. Management (minor in Human Resources) Reading Gary's post, I was having flashbacks to my Quantitative Methods and Statistics classes. Once you've gotten a taste for the correct methods of doing statistical analysis and writing unbaised questionnaires, you get a bitter taste for most "facts" you hear on TV and 99.99% of the "polls".
I think I posted this once before, but about two weeks ago I woke up the entire house when I laughed so hard and abruptly at the 11 PM news. The "reporter" was doing a piece on a local car club that was testing the EPA ratings on Hybrid cars. She reported, "They weren't able to verify or meet the EPA ratings, because only half the people got above the average rating. The rest got less MPG." Why do so many people pop in from nowhere to bash people here?? *SCRATCHING HEAD* I think we need a mod system similar to slashdot http://www.slashdot.org If you post crap, we mod your karma points down. Then I can set my thresholds to only see authors that post information of value (or humor), and if I have A LOT of time on my hands, I can lower it to see everything. |
