My lotion selection has been narrowed to FijiBlend, CT Matahari & Emerald Bay, Italian Thunderbolt(Their Bella Vici smells like Victoria Secret's Amber Romance). I will still carry some DS, the boutique collection, but it is very saturated in our market...My competition practically gives it away. It boils down to you sell what you like...We were amazed to find the DS wasn't selling here all that well, but it has name recognition...
I would suggest a little secret shopping to see what your competition is carrying and do something different. We had no idea what would be good when we started, and now we have a much better idea of what our customers want.

Figi was a no go here, too pricey.

Matahari, same thing.

Emarald Bay, never. Too goopy/waxy and hard to clean off the acrylics I've found.

Italian Thunderbolt, never really heard of it, and I'm not sure I want to.

It's Fiji not Figi,
I know you don't like AG so, what do you sell?
I have never had a hard time getting EB off the beds...
PM me your address & I'll send you a sample of Italian Thunderbolt.

AG, while somewhat almost, maybe decent would not go in my salon because local gyms and hair Salons sell it at a 5% mark-up. As for Thunderbolt, isn't that from one of those "We're gonna call you everyday from now until eternity companies?" As for the PM, sure, please include nudes in your reply.

DS and FS, they have enough choices so when a customer comes in and wants something with a bronzer, or what ever they are looking for, I can show them 3 from 2 lines instead of 15 diff lotions and just confuse them. They generally ask what I like and I show them 1.

We started off with the AG/CG/SB, but we've since dropped them and go with DS, Supre and one or two others. AG sold the fastest, but I think it was just price alone. No one is asking for it now that it's gone.

Supre OMG thought it was against the company policy to sell in salons. Really I had no idea that Tanning Salons could sell Supre.

Kidding

Hee Hee, someone left my wife (chief of purchasing department) of the memo distro list. I used Supre last night neener-neener We are starting to get a good reaction to the new DS Botique collection. It's about all we carry as far as samples now, although we still have a wider selection of full bottles.
