I am not that familier with the different kinds of bulbs. Had a guy come in from out of town that will be here a couple months and wants to keep up his tan. He said the bed he tans in at home has bulbs that just have UVA. I thought they had to have at least a little of one or the other. Help me please.... I felt really stupied.

Trayz, he has been tanning in high pressure. That type of lamp, usually a halogen(sp?) lamp-filters out almost all of the UVB. You really need a combo of both UVA and UVB to get a real tan. UVB stimulates the melanin in your skin and the UVA, oxidizes or turns it brown. Be careful with him if you put him in a med/low pressure bed. He skin is not ready for a big dose of UVB. He will burn.
