Cheapo $100 or under stereo receiver. Make sure it has decent power. Go to the store, get small cube speakers and put them by the head of the bed. Mint.

I am wanting a cd deck in each room so customers may choose their own music?? Something like a car stereo deck and what are your thoughts on headphones?

OPTIONAL headphones. NO SHARING as that's NASTY. If you put car stereos in the rooms then you are gunna need to convert the power among other things like installation etc. Better off getting one of the Bose wave radios w/cd (get a knock off so you don't feel as bad when someone squirts lotion in the CD). I say YOU control the music and if they don't like it have the option to turn it off. Music is part of the experience IMO.

Thank you! I have been reading on tan talk since I decided to start the salon, and you especialy engfant have provided us with great information. We could not have done things without ya (well we could have, but it would have taken longer)! Thanks again.....I will look up the system online.

Honestly, Cambridge Soundworks sells cube speakers that work KILLER and they are under $50 each. You can find them refurbished for even cheaper and they are the exact same thing. hifi.com is the site I think.

Try this...Here is what we did. Bose is great, but big $$$. I went to Target (gotta love it) and bought the wall mountable shower radio/CD players. They mount flat (about 3" thick) work great and we supply headphone in every room. Barely any installation at all (2 screws for the mount and no shelf for it to sit on) and each one cost about $40 and eveyone loves them. I even had a couple customers ask we where we got them and they bought them for their house. Just a suggestion.

HavaTabLLC that is perfect, we will sell the head phones and if they forget them its buy more or listen to what the "house" is listening to... I hate the Stereo fight between rooms! Thanks for the info, saving $$ always makes me happy!

Im a DJ as well as a salon owner, so music is a big part of my salon. I am not a fan of headphones (nazty), so I installed BOSE "In Wall Mount" Speakers at the head of each unit. Went to radio shack and bought individual volume controls for each room. I have it all wired to one reciever (which I control- and if the person wants to listen to music, they turn up the volume, if not- they turn it off. No way would I have different music playing in each room, it would be chaos!!
