Cheapo $100 or under stereo receiver. Make sure it has decent power. Go to the store, get small cube speakers and put them by the head of the bed. Mint.

Same stereo reciever (nice one) & cube speakers.

I purchased wall mounted stereos from Shaper Image. They look cool and people love them.

Im a DJ as well as a salon owner, so music is a big part of my salon. I am not a fan of headphones (nazty), so I installed BOSE "In Wall Mount" Speakers at the head of each unit. Went to radio shack and bought individual volume controls for each room. I have it all wired to one reciever (which I control- and if the person wants to listen to music, they turn up the volume, if not- they turn it off. No way would I have different music playing in each room, it would be chaos!!

Best way to go IMO. I NEED to get those volume controls for the rooms next.

Yes, I agree with Jkonturas, as that is what I have. Hate all the different stations/cds playing. Less equipment for rude disrespectful customers to break.

You all say "customers are hard on equipment" has anyone tried collecting credit card numbers at sign up and checking rooms after every customer and if they break it they pay for it? Just wondering, you all have me worried! At this rate they are getting 15.00 personal stereos or none at all! I cant beleive the stories I hear!!!

boom boxes look cheap. i pipe music from a central receiver that way we control the volume and music. my MATRIX has it's own stereo and cd player. you need to look professional.

If you want to go first class, try a Cosmos system--four differnet radio or XM stations, customer chooses. Speakers with selector knob mount on the wall or sit on a chair. Not cheap but worth looking into.
