I get property tax bill for $33.00 I believe for the contents of my salon.
My landlord send me a copy of his bill saying I owe for the property tax of renting his building. His total bill was 20800.00 but then he has divided it between on the shops in our shopping center. My part was 333.00. It was figured by my square footage.
It this the norm for me to pay the landlords taxes? He is already getting top dollar for rent from me every month.

Is it in your lease that you have to pay it? I'm lucky, I do not. Other salons in the area have to pay their landlords property taxes, insurance, parking lot lighting, snow removal. I think it's call CAM. Not sure and glad I don't have to worry about it.

Where I am it became law several years ago that the property owner was responsible for business taxes regarding said property. I don't have to pay a separeate tax bill as it is now included in the rent. Check your local state/provincial regs and your rental/lease agreements.

The county sends me a Property Tax Notice every year. This year it's $411.60. It's really weird since I don't own the property. Doesn't seem fair, but that's the way they do it.

Ours is included in our rent... He calls it Ticam... its a little under $300 a month and includes all maintenance, landscaping, window cleaning, garbage, water, taxes, etc... Its a little steep, but its great not to have to worry about them individually too

I was recently negotiating a lease that had a requirement that I pay my portion of the building's property taxes plus a bunch of other stuff. I might as well buy a building if I am responsible for the roof and foundation. I backed out of that deal.

I really think that it is ridiculous what these people are getting... I know my realtor makes a small fortune each month.

Our share of property tax is included in. We also pay the CAM each month. In additon to our rent the CAM and tax combined is only $165 a month.

I pay a CAM on top of the rent that includes this stuff..but at the end of the year...if my landlord has done extra things to our strip mall...he gets to wack me again since those extra things aren't budgeted in....and of course he has done all kinds of things...the place looks much better than it was...so I can't complain, hes been building it back up from next to nothing...so I'm sure I'll get a nice hefty bill by the end of the year.
