We haven't started using the timeclock in our system, either, but I think we will...soon...I've started to get customers telling me that they called or stopped by at such-and-such a time, and no one was there...

In their hurry to get out, they may clock out while the last tanners are still tanning, that way everything is done and they can get out right on time. The reverse would be the same if they forget to clock out right at the end of the shift. It's useless for actual payroll purposes. For example, would you print out a copy of the timeclock report for a given payroll period and send it off to the accountant? |

I agree with Neon, my employees would clock out, exit the software and turn off the computer a good 5 minutes or more before they actually lock the door to the place, so they actually could get out on time...I don't feel I could trust it fully either, not totally accurate.

Yes neon that is exactly what I do. I know how many hours are avaible for the day and the week I check this. Again it is just a adding thing - you keep working at it and you will get it. Employees do make mistakes but that is what I get paid to catch. I did have an error I did not catch a couple of weeks ago and a girl got 10 hours too many. I was gone for the weekend so i didnt catch it. The girl new her check was wrong and brought it to my attention. Here again this comes down to quality employees which most of you have a problem finding.

10 hours? Good thing it wasn't 11, then you'd have to use someone elses toes.
Only jolee gets my point I guess. Salon management software timeclocks are just a mere tool, that can be manipulated, and shouldn't be used for actual payrol purposes. As I stated above, but you may have missed or misundertood, you wouldn't print a copy of the timesheet and send it to the payroll department as is. |

Yes that is what I do. I check the time sheets daily to see if they are right. Yes they can be altered and I know my employees know how to alter them. No one is going to take the chance of getting caught. **** I dont think they would do it regaurdless. Like I have said where do you find your people? You should not have to worry about getting screwes all the time.
