Your the owner, do what you think is best and if your clients are anything like mine, they know that I work all the time so they wouldnt mind if i took a couple days off. Or another idea would be have someone you know (who can run the shop) work and instead of paying them, tan them for free or give them some free lotion/product.

Of course i said no. who knows she might have robbed me blind and screwed up my helios while i was gone!!!

Heck, If you post it several days in advance, go on and close. He11, if people can't deal with that, I'm sorry. I just recently started opening at 3:00 p.m. - because my morning were doing NOTHING!! I was paying a girl to sit and read. Some days her shift would be over and the next girl coming in and she had not even tanned one person. I made an executive decision to open at 3:00, I have had no complaints so far, my customers have said that they would have done the same thing. Take your 2 days off and enjoy it, you will make up for it in a couple of months when you are working 16 hours a day.

If you are closed and your competitor is open, if they want to tan that day , they will go there, if they
like it they may stay. Reputable businesses have consistent hours and days of opening, what if you went to your bank, your store, your restaurant, heck, even your drycleaners, and a note is on the door (gone on vacation) what would be your opinion. When you open a business you have to allow for pay of employees to keep your doors open, if you dont it will cost you more than if you do, I can assure you this is a fact. |

ok, after much deliberation i have decided to bite the bullet and be open saturday and only close on sunday, if i lose a customer becouse i decided to close one freakin' day this year then whatever. I mean it's going to be well communicated and if someone gets weird about it I'll give them an extra visit on their month or some lotion or something.
