Swedaguy... i'm happy with the software i'm using right now, but i'd love to hear more about what you've come up with... my partner in crime has many ideas for changes, but he's a software engineer so i'm the one working with the customers at the salon, he's a behind the scenes kinda guy... 'course we've only owned the salon for two weeks... though i've tanned there 9 years and worked there for 4 years... anywho, we use sunease now (dos version)

What do you think of the Sunease? I tried to buy it, but working with Hap was a circus...I never could get a copy that would install right. Of course, he kept trying to convince me that I wanted the windoze version, and I kept telling him that it would be a cold day in ****...and he didn't seem thrilled that his pride and joy (the win stuff) didn't interest me in the least. So, I'm still running a card system...
The problem I'm finding is that the programs I've seen for tanning salons are great for tanning-specific functions, but sadly lacking in basic retail, inventory and accounting functions. It's funny, I also have a partner who writes custom software applications. We own a retail systems business next door to the salon. I've been dealing with POS and cash registers for quite some time now, so as you can imagine, I've seen some of the best and have very high standards. So much of the software available today is just plain junk...so, we're working on something better... It will take some time, but we feel that my background in proprietary systems can yield something more cost effective (not to mention reliable) than the current offerings... |
