Was wondering, How everyone schedules the hours of opening and closing.
I do 10-8M-Thurs Frid-10-7 Sat 10-5 closed Sundays. Live in Alabama, Only been opened 4 months so I don't know if this is the perfect schedule. I do know in 4 months we were opening at 900 and never had a single tanner till after 10 so we are now changing it to 10. We were staying open till 9 pm but never had a tanner past 8 so were closing now at 8. I know this is really cutting into our opening times but I feel were wasting our time staying open so early and so late. Other salons in my area which are much bigger stay open till midnight and open at 600am but I never see any cars in their parking lot at those times. They can just do it because they are franchises and have money to waste. Foxy |

M-Thurs 9-9 Fri & Sat 9-7 Sun 12-6 I had worked really well for our salon, but then again maybe 5 people at most come in at 9..Some customers want us opening at 7 or 8, but it would be a waste of time and money to open for 2 or 3 people

My hours are 8-8 Mon-Fri, 9-4 on Sat and I was open 1-5 on Sunday, but just started closing on Sunday in last week. I used to have tanners at 8:00 a.m. all the time now it's after 10:00 or sometimes lunchtime. I am thinking about changing my hours to open at 10:00 for the winter months.

We kept our hours pretty much the same from Spring thru Summer, and I dont plan on changing them until the real season hits, right now we are:
Salon #1: M-F 9am till Midnight S - 9am - 8pm S - 11am - 4pm Salon #2 M-S 9a - Midnight S Noon - 11p In the real season we may open as early as 6am & close as late as 3am, I havent decided yet though. |

Maybe it's our location or just the fact that this salon has always opened at 7AM, but we are still averaging 12 to 20 tanners in the 7AM to 8:30AM time slot.
That's a lot of traffic for enhancing revenue. We have decided to maintain the same hours of operation year-round simply because people are such creatures of habit. Anyway... works for us... |
