I recently bought a salon and on either side of me are franchises. Another issue is that some other owner within 10 miles suddenly closed her doors one weekend and went on the lam. So customers I think are a little gun shy about tanning with independent owners in this area. Any ideas I could use to boost potential customer confidence in me versus a franchise?
Thanks Aymi |

Offer smaller packages or no commitment unlimited where they don't have to offer up too much to get in. I know this means you aren't locking them in but you have to earn their confidence. I had a bunch of people come to my salon when another shut down and they were very gun-shy - this worked for them and me. For the unlimited I offered one month for $51.95 which could be renewed indefinitely for $28.95 while current.

Jo has the right call here, and I really like the less expensive renewel idea, it gives you a month to prove you've got skills than after that if you have taken care of them in the very best way possible, there is no reason to go anywhere else.
