We currently have a spray booth in our salon, and it has been doing quite weel for us since we opened in Nov. Before then, only one other salon in the area had a spray booth, a differnet model of coarse, but since we opened nearly evryone has one! I have been looking into airbrush tanning using a spray gun and adding it as an addition feature that we offer, especially since we would be the only salon withing 50 miles to have one. My thinking was that we could offer it as an upgrade to the booth and charge more. Currently, we charge $25/visit in the booth ($20 right now w/coupon), but with the airbrushing the results would be nearly flawless, so we could charge $35-$40? This would also allow us to just do certain body parts too (legs, face, etc.)
I know there will alwys be people that prefer the booth, simply because they don't feel comfortable standing half naked in front of someone to be sprayed. Maybe I;m crazy, but I just wanted some opinions. Thankx! |

I have both and the brush has completely dominated UV Free because of the results. In order to keep it simple, we charge double sessions for airbrush. If they buy 20 sessions, they can go in the booth 20 times or 10 on airbrush. Just set your tan code on airbrush to take two sessions. It simplifies things and the value is definitely there. No one sprays in the booth anymore.

That's not that important, we have had people come in and have used ours and others on the market and I believe airbrush blows any booth away. If you haven't tried it, try it. Your transfer efficiency is 2-3 times better (with the right airbrush system), you can afford a better solution (less use) and it much more exacting. Better saturation, and you don't have to pat off with a towel (which removes solution). I believe you go from about a 50% satisfaction rate to 95+% and make more money.
