I have had enough! Four clients have come into my salon in the past two weeks, with lotions they purchased from the internet. What is a salon to do about this? Go up on tanning packages? My lotion sales have declined this year tremendously due to the evil cut throats on the internet. Does anyone have any suggestions this is really starting to *^&*^&*^(&* me off.

Do not allow any lotions to be used in your beds unless they are purchased at your salon.

how do you tell them that without peeing them off? pee them off they go down the road. To many other places to tan. products not sold on internet nice try, but still not a good answer. Does anyone have a good answer?

How do you know they purchased them on the internet ??

If it was through discussion then continue the discussion with : You never know whats in those bottles : Do you really know where that goo came from : I read an article that a girl got an STD from internet goo : Are you sure the seal was not broken .............

Okay, I have been doing this..... I sell exclusively D.S. and Fiesta Sun in my salon (they are really good lotions, and pretty hard to find online- unless you go to ebay). If a client comes in with their WalMart brand "indoor" lotion or some other CRAP, I say.. OK, listen, that lotion cost you what? $8 ?? I will give you 2 sample packs of a good lotion for free (retail=$8), and we will throw this CRAP away right now. Explain how the stuff they got at WalMart stains the acrylic in your beds, and is just poopooty anyway. Since you are giving them $8 worth of lotion anyway, they cant lose. It will cost you about $4 right then, but it may be a lotion sale later on down the road. If it is just a scummy person who is gonna use you for the lotion, then do it again..... then be firm with them, and tell them it is not allowed- if they want to go somewhere else? Let them, cuz they are just gonna be a pain in the butt again somewhere down the road, you dont need clients like this. I can see a bottom feeder as soon as they walk through the door, and I am just cut/dry with them from the start, cuz I dont need their crappy business anyway, let them go to the dirty and cheap salon down the road.......

Well what about when they come in with DS or Fiesta Sun? Not every salon down the road is cheap and dirty either.

Good Idea! That is another way to come across to a client. We are very good at telling them the Wal_Mart lotion is banned period. Maybe the samples will be an even better go at it
