THe point here is not the BIG SPENDERS - we will all do whatever it takes to "handle " with kid gloves the big spenders, in most cases theer is nothing to handle - these are prize people that you can bend a "rule" for but almost never have to.

These "rules" are put in place for the "bottom feeders" - a term I have learned from this site. The reason I put NO SHARING in place is because of abuse. The big spenders generally don't do this. The reason I put in an expiry this year was we had moved from a paper - card system to a computer. Then we had clients come in and say "well I had at least 100 mins left from last year" The computer showed 10 or 20 on no mins - this came from the cards SO I KNEW THIS person is a liar ! In the past the girls had too much to handle to go through last years cards and "argue"ith this liar.

IN SHORT to keep these bottom feeders honest we put in a 6month expiry. Lets face it anyone buying tanning today has the intention to use it before 6 months and we as owners have the intention of providing it within 6 months.

I TOTALLY encourage sharing packages. Twice the clients coming through the door equals twice the opportunity for upgrade sales, lotion sales , samples, etc, and best of all, twice as many tanned faces running around MY TOWN, along with the stares, and the"where did you go on vacation? OR Where do you tan",from my clients friends and family!I also offer two free sessions with any lotion purchase, so it's an extra incentive for the package-sharing clients to keep spending woth me. I'm a newbie, so please let me know if you think I'm way off base, or right on

Are you making money ?

If you are then you are doing something right .......keep on doing it my friend !

Everybodies situation is different. We too encouraged the sharing of packages for a few years while building a clientelle . Do what you have to do. We will still allow it for good customers.

The hotels have something called a RACK RATE........Sears has something called a REGULAR price. who ever pays the rack rate or the regular rate...................

Well you do or you will at certain times when the demand is maxed out. But for most of the year you will not.

After 5-6 years in bus we now finally have times we are maxed out. During these times we need "rules" or regular prices or rack rates so we can encourage the bottom feeders to pay a fair price. We will ALWAYS mske exceptions for our year round and well paying clients !

I had a girl come in and ask about her and her friend sharing a monthly package...saying that the salon down the way lets them get a monthly package for the two of them for $150.00. After explaining to her that my rates were cheaper than that..I charge $49 for a month...she still wanted to talk about how they gave her a deal with the $150...what could I do? I said I would honor that and match it. lol..idiot! I didn't do it...should have...but didn't. I still don't think she understands. Now I have to ask myself why be so honest...I could've just pocketed an extra 50. lol

We do a discount on monthly service charge to families. My most popular package is $20 per month with a $1.00 co-pay for each visit. For 1 person it's 20, the next $17, than $14 and finally $11. I've only got 1 family with 4 people of which the one has only been in twice since we opened (March 11th). I do have a bunch of husband/wife & boyfriend/girlfriend that book the same time to come in together. They still each pay the co-pay. It's all about customer serivice and if losing $3 brings in 2 clients so be it.

Re: Sharing Packages

we do not allow sharing but will transfer a pkg. the person taking over the pkg is treated like a new client and the pkg is removed from the 1st persons name and placed under the new persons so there is no confussion and no worrys about over exposure.
