I know this is an old topic but since we are heading into busy season I wanted to see if anyone was willing to share their phone scripts?? I am still trying to put one together with not much luck. Here's what I have so Far.
"We have 4 levels of tanning and over 20 different packages. If you can come in we can go over prices and help you choose what will work best for you. We will be here until 10 tonight if you can stop by." I thought about telling them they can get their 1st tan free or 3 tans for $3 (to be used within a week) BUT I dont want them to come in just to get that and possibly keep them from spending more $$. What do you guys think? I'm not trying to hide prices...we just see about 300 a day with a 12 bed salon & it's IMPOSSIBLE to go over all our packages on the phone with a line of 5 people waiting to sign up. |

We give out prices,etc. over the phone. We have got a few customers in because we're friendlier over the phone than other salons. If we know it's someone who might be spying, well, we ask their name and tell them that they will have a free packet of lotion waiting for them at the front counter if they come in to tan tonight. We usually never see that person.

For your phone scripts, what questions do you already have "answered" for employees to study? (I know the answers will all be different for us) But are the sample questions like: how much is a month, what are your specials, do you have any specials...

I'm going to be KILLED this year with the phone calls cause the comp has GIVEN UP and dropped it to $20. I ain't going NO WHERE with the prices. Just tell them to read the fine print (which means DO SOME RESEARCH which translates to DO WORK which is USUALLY enough to scare them to your place) or remind them of how much of a toilet that place is OR how it's geared towards children and they plan on FILLING the place with 14-16 year olds. That right there would get rid of your perverts and bring in the paying adults.
ALSO, remember everything is on a WAVE. You can't keep dropping prices. IMO, we are coming to a time where price dictates quality. Salons that have been in biz for years, all of a sudden dropping prices to more than half of last year??? Customers are not THAT stupid. They KNOW that there is a catch built in. They just don't know to what degree they are gunna get "surcharged". If there ISN'T a catch then that's almost WORSE cause then you got them thinking ok, what the **** IS THE REAL CATCH THEN? The place MUST be a toilet or something is wrong. SOMETHING is coming up short. Then they go for it. 30 tans 30days...barely any color. Oh there's the catch. THE TANNING BEDS DON'T TAN. Kinda defeats the purpose of running a TANNING SALON if you can't get a TAN there. |
