Can Dermatologist Prescribe Tanning Beds for Psoriasis?

Just wandering if anyone has heard of dermatologist prescribing tanning beds for people who suffer from Psoriasis? Thanks, aimeeRN

Oh I don't know about that amiee. But I do have clients that the derms told them to use a tanning unit in low doses for the condition. As I said before, I have several.

Insurance is very funny about this Amiee........
Depending on the past record of the disorder, and depending on the Insurance the person could be covered.
A doctor can indeed state that the person needs it...but you know how Insurance can be.

If you have psoriasis and are trying to get insurance/ tanning bed paid for through insurance, forget about it. There is no WAY this yould be considered medically nessissary.

Thanks all for your replies. Ill be getting a home unit for my psoriasis with or without the doctors prescription. I just havent been to dermatologist in years. Thanks again. Have a great day.
