Hi all, as my first month open is turning the corner, I have a question...
I was told by Heartland that running 4 tanning beds 50% of the time and staying open 65 hours a week, my electric bill should not be over 300$ a month. Does this sound right to all you veterans?

During this time of year, my peak season, I run 8 beds and 2 stand ups constantly, all day long. We did 168 sessions today. we are closed on Sundays. My electric bill for this month will be $400.00-$450.00. Note: I have 2 5 ton ac units with seperate thermostats. They have no problem keeping my salon cold no matter how busy we get.

A lot of it depends on your location as well. During peak season with 12 beds running constantley my electric will run approx. 650.00

Alot has to do with service provider and fuel charges and electrical hook up. We lowered our bill by $100 a month by installintg a new box and moving our higher output beds to the new service. Went from 650 to 500 a month.

My bill is highest in the summer, around $1200. I have a 10-ton a/c unit + a 3-ton unit, 1-hp bed (3-phase), and 4 VHR beds. But when it's slow and the weather's cooler my bill can go as low as $500.

I guess none of you are located in Illinois. We have some of the highest rates in the country and my average bill during season for 13 beds and 9 tons of a/c is over $2000 per month. The way I look at it is a lower bill means that less people are tanning so I guess I can deal with it. Best of luck to all for the upcoming season! Tammy
