I have an employee that is not tanning well. She tans often and uses lotions, and she's into tingles. She's a natural blonde and fair skinned, although her legs are tanning rather well. It's strange and we can't figure it out, as she says she's never had this problem before. She has ask me to order her some Tan Tabs. Are these safe for her to take and will they work?

They're probably safe. But, I'm not sure if they'll work. A doctor who tans here told me that you'd have to take them at or around the time that the "tan" is progressing - or - "doing it's thing". You know how when you tan, how your color doesn't show up for several hours. And then you see more color the next day? Well, tanning happens in a progression. You'd have to take the pills right as the tanning processis occuring. Hey- I dunno. And then again, how many are you supposed to take?

The doctor is right. The reason you need to take tanning suplements "around the time you tan" is that the body does not store the aminoacid Tyrosine (the main ingredient in TAN-AID, our product, as well tan-tabs) very well. She needs to maintain a steady intake by taking them starting the day before tanning, and then all the way through until the day after (this is because the body continues to produce Melanin up to 24 hours after exposure to UVR). She is going to see the difference.

Make sure you tell her also that she must take other vitamins as well, like Copper, Vitamin E, and B-complex vitamins, in addition to the Tyrosine. These are used during the Tyrosine-to-Melanin conversion process (we incorporated all of these into one formula, so you have all you need in one supplement). Sage I'd be happy to send you a free sample of TAN-AID to give to your friend. Reply here, or send me an email.

Thanks everyone for your help. Mitzi, I followed your link and read those posts as well. PJ, I would love to have the sample of your Tan-Aid product, but I have no idea how to email you.

My email is: mail@tanaid.com . (if you click it, it will open a new mail automatically)

Or can also send me a personal message (see PM above), or just post the address to send the sample to right here.

Sage,

She is most likely using skin care products with sunscreens in them as well. Most of your soaps have sunscreens in them and yet do not list it on the packaging. Especially ones that say "Age-defying" or "Extra-Moisturizing" like Oil of Olay, Dove, and Caress just to name a few.

I am a very fair skinned blond as well and I notice better color by staying AWAY from hot actions (just my personal experience.) X-Speed and Sexy Tan work great for me.

The Tan-Tabs did help somewhat, but the sunscreen issue will play a bigger part in affecting her tan. Also over the counter moisturizers have sunscreens in them as well. I would suggest she purchase the Total Submersion and Immersion from CalTan and start using them immediately. (Or any indoor tanning body wash/ tan extender)

We have a list of sunscreen ingredients that we hand out to our customers to check against their skin care products to insure they do not contain ay form of sunscreen. Doing this helps to ensure your customers achieve optimal results and as a side benefit you increase your supply revenues.

Just my 0.02$

Carla,

She claims that she isn't using anything that contains sunscreen. I wasn't aware that skin care products contained sunscreen unless stated as SPF on the packaging. Where may I obtain a list of sunscreen ingedients?

PJ - how many mg of each ingredient/vitamin/supplement are in your product? And unless I missed it - no one answered redhot's question about how many you take?
