I had a lot of resistance (non use) of my stand up in my first salon that had 8 lay down and 1 stand up. I took it out and added another lay down and it has been much better. I personally like the stand up, but am very much in the minority, at least in our area.

you may consider a high end bed, depending on your area and competition, it can help you offer more variety and go after the upper level customer. I have quite a few clients that wont tan in anything but our high end bed.

What do you have room for? I added a stand-up because I had limited space to work with. I thinks its good to have variety - lay-down and standup. Or if you are really bold, add a HP (if you have enough A/C for it). I have one and couldn't imagine my salon without it!
