Christine,
What would your guess be if the small white spots were raised and appeared to contain liquid, not painful at all and just went down and dissapeared after the liquid was re-absorbed by the skin? I have a customer that said they have never been able to use a tanning lotion because this occurs. |

Halole:
This could be a reaction to an ingrediant in the lotions.. maybe too much of the product laying on the skin, or a reaction to too much sweat.. ( they are in fact allergic to their own sweat)....... we see this here in the tropical zones of Florida a lot....... I have seen where they try to release the fluid...then.....the area of where the "raised spot" was becomes pinkish for several days....then turns white and can't get colour again..... For people who experiance this try to put them in a basic plain moisturizer ( an after tanning one that you sell at your studio).. Remember the idea behind a tanning lotion indoors, is to get the skin moist..damp.......so that the UV can do its thing..( Example... total Immersion will help a person get a tan if they can not use an actual indoor tanning product).... Some women get "bumps" on their legs and near the under arms if they have shaved that day and then come to tan...... Also be sure the guest does not have on a product that has a fregrance.. ( example: bath and body works vanilla spice moisturizer..) remember UV plus a perfume can cause irratation and or sun spots... Remember everyone is different....but tell them NOT to try to "pop" or release the bump.... leave it alone...... they will show you all kinds of things on their body..and say what is this? Don't try to say for sure unless you know for sure... Remember this person TRUSTS you.....you are the person dealing with their skin..... Refer them to a doctor ( one YOU trust, will not dog indoor tanning).... you are right Haole: the "bump" if containing a liquid will generaly absorb back into the body over a period of time. Tell them to leave it alone..and watch it for a little while...... I hope this helps.. C |

I have other question in reguards to this post??? I have a lady who has "white raised spots on he inner elbows only that turn into blisters" She has been tanning for about two weeks and they just came up. She has had this problem before. Tanning at other salons, different disinfectent, no lotions. I am lost in what to do with her. She is trying the stand up today and tomarrow to see if that makes a difference, but she has rolled her arms over to where her elbows are not touching the bed.
Any help here is grealty appreciated. Thanks Terri Intense Tans |

Re: White spots-not sun spots??
i also have recently started to indoor tan, only in ten min incriments, about 30 min after raised pink spots are appearing on my chest and top of my stomach, varying in size and shape, they are quite itchy as well and look as though maybe filled with liquid. What do id o to stop this reaction. I really really don't want to stop tanning but wondering if I am in real danger as I have never really been exposed to extreme sunlight (live in Canada) and am almost thirty. They do seem to go away the day or two after but wondering still if i should stop until no trace is left a t all. Will i lose the little color i have achieved then every time this happens? Please HELP!

Re: White spots-not sun spots??
If you are that concerned about them you should go to a dermotologist...anything you get on this site will be speculation...there are no doctors here.
