I would advertise that special "TAN FREE" buy a package of 5 tans and get two free. It's always cheaper to give a tan than to discount money..

Detour:

The first, and hardest, step on the road to selling tanning year-round is convincing yourself and your staff that it makes sense.

Clients respond to the "message" of year-round tanning very well because it makes sense. Why would they want to let their tan fade out and then sunburn?

Not everyone will "get it" the first time you talk about it but, if persistent, you can eliminate much of the "seasonal" decline. We (tanning salon owners and operators) cause much of the seasonal decline because we believe that it is going to happen.

I just may have to try that Speical that you speak of Taning4you...I was just trying something different to see how well it sold..and yeah they are selling great!

During the slow season we run monthly specials where you buy a month unlimited tanning and you receive a free bottle of lotion. The lotion is usually a close out for $5.00 or under. I do this instead of dropping my price. I also do the tan until 2002(for example) for one low price. Usually I drop the pkg. by $5.00 per month. We have also added a free week with the purchase of a monthly pkg. in the past.

Started package specials of Buy 5 Get 2 Free, Buy 10, etc...and so far they have sold a lot better than when I had previously sold them at discounted prices of $5.00 off! Glad I changed for the month of November!

We've been having a lot of success with a buy 2 months and get 1 free on all of our packages...even single tans...Which cracks me up because for the price of 3 tans, they could get the whole week...but it just doesn't sound as good! LOL!
