FYI To Ask Don's Army:
In another post, Shari Jones has brought to our attention a defamatory article in KIDS Discover Magazine. Please lend your support to protesting this article. Listed below is a copy of my answer to Shari. Shari/All: Go to the "Ask Don's Army E-Message Campaign" section and add your protest to the editor of KIDS Discover Magazine to mine. All you have to do is click on the link below and add your comments, your name, salon name, phone number and e-mail address and send it to the magazine. It will only take you a few seconds so there is no reason for not doing so. Let's see if we can get AT LEAST 100 people protesting the false, deceptive, misleading and scientifically unsubstantiated (FDMSU( statements made in the article. http://www.tantalk.com/forum/auto_email.php?mode=send&id=17 Don |

The question is, are there 100 salon owners who are willing to spend a few seconds protesting this article?
Is there REALLY an "Army" out there or are there just 20 - 30 "stalwarts" who always help? The greatest asset our enemies have is OUR apathy! Don "Who Can't Understand Why More People Aren't Willing To Help" Smith |

FYI To Ask Don's Army:
I received a response to our e-Campaign from Ms. Stella Sands, Editor of KIDS Discover Magazine. In summary, she used the infamous "Whitmore" article to "substantiate" her article. I sent her the "link" (shown below) to an article I wrote for the August, 2001 issue of LOOKING FIT magazine that "debunked" the Whitmore article and you may want to "re-read" my article if you are interested in this issue. Here is my response to her response: Ms. Stella Sands: First of all, let me thank you for your prompt response to my e-mail. However, please be aware of the fact that the Whitmore article, in my opinion, contains false, deceptive, misleading and scientifically unsubstantiated (FDMSU) statements and claims. Please click on the link below to read an article I wrote for LOOKING FIT magazine that was published in August, 2001 for the details of why this article is FDMSU. The most egregious "fault" of the Whitmore study was the fact that she failed to inform the readers that the test subjects had been sensitized with DNCB as part of a "mirror image" study conducted, incredibly, on the same subjects at the same time. Her failure to disclose this fact calls into question the veracity of her results. If you would like to discuss this issue in greater detail, please feel free to contact me at (520) 975-0180.
