I have been very actively seaching for marketing tools to gain new clients. I have talked to our local hockey league about ads in their programs (yes Ribby the QC Mallards), the local movie theater about movie preview ads, just got done with the bridal expo, newspaper.
Anyone use any of these or other means that are effective?????

Oh, I just signed up for a coupon book. No cost to me. There will be 3 coupons in it for a free basic bed tan or they can use all three of them for an upgrade free tan.

Never done this but it didn't cost me... we will see if this generates new clients or bring some exsiting clients back for a little while.

Got a phone call today for a community college coupon book. Free for me, and free to 12,000 students. I said "Free? Did you say free? Uh, how fast can you fax me info?"

One of the best marketing tools our salons use is through local grocery stores. Coupons for a special introductory offer and discounts on minute packages are offered on the back of the grocery receipts. Brings in a lot of new clients!

Ours is still our location. Just CAN'T beat it!!! We're in the same plaza as the busiest and most successful bagel shop in our area. When someone gives directions anywhere near us they will ALWAYS say "You know the bagel shop?"

After that, the direct mail to our existing clients pulled in more than any other advertising we've ever done. But then that was to existing clients, not new ones.

One of our salons is in a wonderful location and it is very busy. (heheh...it's also my baby, I started working for Rio Tan full time when it opened in 1999). It is for the other two that I need to motivate new people to come try us.

Oh I think I misunderstood. I thought you were talking about paper programs that the theaters give out. If it is on the screens that is a diff. story. I have in the past run Christmas ads on the screens. Really don't know how much that helped, cause I didn't have anyway of tracking it at the time. It could be a good thing though.

We still use the tried and true billboards, radio, newspapers, etc....but starting around Nov, we also had coupons we gave out at Dallas Mavericks games. There are 2 coupons on there...5 free tans (one tan in each type of bed) or a free mist-on. We received a lot of those back. We also have ad banners up in several malls (I don't know what they're really called, but basically it's the ads that are always on the other side of the mall directory signs). They have slots for brochures which we stapled 5 free tan cards to. There is a mall right across the street from my house...they stock them 3 times a week, and anytime I am in the mall, they are usually close to empty or empty, so people are at least picking the brochures up.
