FYI To Ask Don's Army:
WOW! An article titled "Tuberculosis and vitamin D deficiency" by Sasidharan, et al, that was published in the April, 2002 issue of the "Journal of the Association of Physicians in India" in the was a bombshell! The authors stated in their "Conclusion" that "Serum 25 hydroxy vitamin D levels less than 9 ng/ml indicates deficiency" and that "Vitamin D deficiency exists in patients with tuberculosis and it is possibly a cause rather than an effect of the disease." That's right folks, the authors are postulating that a deficiency of vitamin D CAUSES tuberculosis (TB) which explains why sunlight "exposure" was, before the advent of antibiotics, the method of treatment! So now we can add tuberculosis to osteoporosis, several forms of cancer, coronary heart disease, diabetes, and multiple sclerosis that are "mediated" by cutaneously produced vitamin D!
