My closest competitor has decided that they would like to focus on hair and is wanting out of tanning. The salon has 8 beds that I do not want/need. They have stated an amount for the DB of clients. My salon is new this year in this market and has done quite well so far. I would like to have the EFT role ($3,000 per month) and it would make me the largest tanning salon in the area. I was wondering how to value a DB and not an entire salon. Any help would be appreciated.

Some questions I would want answered if I were you.
Are you the only viable buyer interested? How close are you to their location? Any there any other nearby competitors? If they closed their tanning operation, would you get that customer anyway? Any other EFT salons in the area? Does EFT fit in with your business plan? Do you offer EFT now? How many tanning units in your salon? If you wanted to offer EFT, could you get a higher EFT amount if you just started your own program and she closed her tanning operation? What percentage of their EFT customers would continue at your location? How much additional PROFIT would her database bring you in the first year? |
