Ask Every Tanner:
“What indoor tanning products are you going to use!”

This is an open ended question so you can see if the tanners is using any indoor tanning product at all?

Once you have an answer then make your judgment:

Is that the right product for them?

Is that one you sell in your salon?

How many times have I seen that same bottle?

Are they using enough lotion for it to help them?

Is my staff seeing the sales opportunity from asking this question?

The key is to identify which indoor tanning product everyone of your tanners are using and help them with information to help them tan better.

open-ended questions are fabulous!!!

You can also try:

"Which upgrade beds have you tried?"

"Which lotions haven't you sampled?"

"Which tan-extender are you using?"

Definately open ended questions are the best!!!! I always tell new hirees that if you give a client the opportunity to say "no" they will. Even if they have a bottle of lotion in their hands, don't say "do you have enough lotion?".....reccommend something new they might like to alternate with what they are using or an add on product to be used in conjunction with what they have, ie facial tanner, moisturizer, lip balm.
