okay, everyone is saying that this is the "slow season"... back in my retail clothing days that would be January, February, and March.

What are you doing to keep your numbers up? Do you post daily sales goals for your staff members? (and hold them accountable!) Are you running a contest? Have you introduced a "new" product? Are you suggesting upgrades? Are you trying to add-on a lip balm or an after-tan moisturizer to each sale? Have you re-merchandised to keep your displays looking fresh?

I am the biggest sucker for compliments on my tan from the girls at the salon. If they say "your tan really looks great. Have you tried XYZ (bed, lotion, moisturizer)? It's for advanced tanners like yourself." SOLD. Whatever it is, I'll buy it. And I know all of the selling tricks! I still bite!

There are lots of things that you can do that don't involve discounting product or sessions! What are YOU doing to boost sales this week?

We have a spiff running on Matahari..(for the month) above their regular commission on the product sold...
Winner gets a gift certificate for a manicure/ pedicure and a lunch at Chilis (value $65.00)...
The staff likes spiffs.. each month they pick a product.. ( they say which one they want to move).. and I put together a prize package..
It is fun and good competition for everyone..
